Bishop Oliver is honored at the 5th Annual All-Star

Gospel Brunch in Dallas, TX

February 13, 2010 - Dallas, TX - Bishop Gary Oliver was honored at the 59th Annual NBA All-Star Weekend as one of the most outstanding pastors in the MidCities.  The honor was given to him during the red carpet ceremonies for the 2010 All-Star Red Carpet Gospel Brunch.  The brunch was covered by The Word Network and is held annually in various cities across the country.  Co-hosted by Pastor Paula White and comedian Jonathan Slocumb, other honorees included NBA legend Charlie Ward, Pastor Frederick Haynes III, Bishop Kenneth Spears, Dr. Tony Evans, and Pastor Rickie Rush.  Among others, musical guests for the event included Fred Hammond, Kirk Franklin, and Angella Christie.

Prior to Bishop Oliver’s acceptance of the honor, the audience enjoyed the debut of the most recent commercial for his Fort Worth church, Tabernacle of Praise.  Additionally, the ecstatic crowd watched a video heralding his achievements and future plans.  Bishop Oliver said of the event, “It’s always an honor to be recognized, especially with fellow ministries that are dedicated to the same cause.  I think we’d all agree that it’s hard to stay relevant in today’s society.  So, we’re all working as hard as we can to make that happen every day.”
